A second round of the Fisheries Industry Science Partnerships (FISP) funding is now open for applications.

The FISP scheme, part of the £24 million earmarked from the £100 million UK Seafood Fund specifically for science and innovation projects, improves and shares knowledge of fisheries and aquaculture by funding data collection and research to support sustainable fisheries management. In the first FISP round, the government awarded £1.4million to eight innovative new projects that will support the UK’s fishing industry to be more productive and sustainable.

Applications for contracts to carry out full research projects (FISP Part B) are open until midday 16 May, with up to £300K available per bid.

Applications for grant funding to develop research proposals (FISP Part A) are open until midday 25 April, with up to £20k available per bid.
