Kickstart Grant Scheme Update (15 October): 

The Kickstart Grant team have issued the following guidance to those awaiting a response on their Kickstart applications:

If the enquiry is about the outcome of their application: 

  • If a business applied during the first application window (between the 1-3 September) and have not yet heard about the outcome of their application, they are encouraged to email the Kickstart Grants team at Support.bsi@devon.gov.uk. The Kickstart Grants team will check the status of application.
  • If a business applied during the second application window (between the 21 and 22 September) they will hear about their application by the 26 October. 

If the enquiry is about a claim: 

  • The team are processing applications as quickly as they can and will be in touch soon. It is the team’s intention to have paid all claims within 30 working days of receiving the claim form and all supporting documentation. 

If the enquiry is about disputing the outcome: 

  • Please email the Kickstart Grants team at Support.bsi@devon.gov.uk and they will look at your application and make a decision regarding your dispute. We ask that all applicants are patient during this process. 

If the enquiry is about changing an item they have been awarded: 

  • Applicants can purchase the same item from a different supplier, however, they are required to inform the Kickstart team about the reason for this change in the claim form. For example, if the item was no longer in stock.
  • If an applicant requires a completely new item, this will require applicants to submit a new quote and a justification as to why this item has changed. Their original application was appraised on the basis of the information they provided and the eligibility of the items, therefore not all changes will be allowed. The funding was awarded to businesses on the basis that they purchase the items as described.

What is on offer?

Grant funding of between £1,000 and £3,000 will be available to eligible businesses. Activities supported by the grant can include:

  • Specialist professional advice such as HR, financial including accountancy, IT and digital in response to Covid-19
  • The purchase of minor equipment to support your business to adapt or adopt new technology in order to continue to deliver business activity in response to Covid-19

Who is it for?

The grant scheme is open to small and medium-sized enterprises based in the Heart of the South West LEP area of Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay.

Your business must meet the eligibility criteria for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Application Results

If you have applied for the Growth Support Kickstart Grant Scheme, please note that the Kickstart Team has received a huge number of applications, in excess of 1000. The Team are processing them as fast as they can. If you have not heard from Support.bsi@devon.gov.uk by the 26 October, please do contact them directly. However, if you could wait until this date it would be very much appreciated and will give the team more time to focus on processing applications rather than answering emails.
