Farmers can now apply for grants between £3,000 and £12,000 towards the costs of farm equipment under the Countryside Productivity Small Grants Scheme. Applications are due in by 14 March 2018. The intention is that there will be further CP small grant scheme rounds later in the year
The RDPE Countryside Productivity Small Grant scheme provides funding for farmers to purchase equipment to improve the productivity of their farm. The scheme is different to other parts of the main Countryside Productivity scheme as it uses an online application process and is targeted at supporting investment for specific pieces of agricultural equipment. The initial offer is for £15 million of small grants of between £3,000 and £12,000 for a range of equipment and technology to be used on farms. Grants are available for a specified range of equipment such as cattle and sheep handling systems, electronic weigh systems, EID hand-held devices and precision farming equipment (these are just a few examples, the full list is in the scheme handbook). There is a simplified application process and applying online can take just a few minutes.
Applications will be scored after the closing date and it is expected that applicants will be informed soon after the application window closes on whether they have been successful.
Full details on the CP Small Grants Scheme are being available on the Countryside Productivity page on Gov.uk. The page includes links to the Handbook and a portal to a very simple online application form. See full details at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countryside-productivity-scheme
