Understanding Your Farm’s Future Without Subsidies
With the UK having left the EU, changes in agricultural support are fast approaching as the Agriculture Bill moves through Parliament. This workshop will cover the development of subsidies over the years, the proposals by Defra to eliminate the Basic Payment Scheme by 2028 with the first reductions in 2020. The introduction of a new environmental scheme is anticipated in 2024 with payments based on the provision of “public goods”. Examples of how the reductions will be made will be provided at varying levels of BPS payments.
The workshop is run by Stewart Horne who has a wealth of agricultural and business experience, having been a farmer for over 35 years and Managing Director of BIP for over 20 years. A well respected professional he holds several high-profile roles connected with rural organisations including the Rural Services Network, CQLP and is a member of several initiatives.
This is a completely FREE workshop, thanks to funding from South Hams District Council and refreshments will be provided.
