Plymouth Games Manufacturer Wins Ebay Award After Receiving Funded Business Support.

The Growth Hub team was delighted to hear from Hannah Daragon, MD of Hannah’s Games, who makes and sells card games for parties. Starting her business creating hen party games, her business has expanded to include a game for almost any party genre, with a selection of quirky games suited to either the whole family or an adult-only audience. Recently, Hannah’s Games won the prestigious Ebay ‘Inspiration Award,’ marking her growing success online.

Following the funded business support Hannah received from the Growth Hub and Growth Support Programme, she has since attended the National eBay for Business Awards ceremony, dedicating her award to all those who lives are blighted by ill health. This is her follow-up report of the evening.

Hannah was presented with her Award at eBay’s HQ in London by UK Vice President Rob Hattrell and Chief Operating Officer Paulo Levoni on Wednesday 10th January 2018.

During her acceptance speech, Hannah donned a pair of grubby old slippers to represent the reality of battling chronic illness, explaining that: ‘It took a long spell in grotty slippers just like these to realise I could lead, develop, be strategic and successful AND be a devoted Mum on MY terms‘

She dedicated her Award to those whose lives are blighted by ill health: ‘for every person fighting bowel disease, depression, discrimination – or the myriad other imposters who steal our
self-worth and our life-chances. This award is for you. You are fantastic and there is life beyond’

Launched in July, the Ebay for Business Awards were the marketplace’s first ever search for the best small business stories in the UK. Hundreds of inspirational entries came from across the country, from the top talent already trading on eBay to bricks-and-mortar businesses looking to take their first steps online. Over 200,000 small businesses already trade on eBay in the UK.

Rob Hattrell, Vice President of eBay in the UK, said: ‘Through the eBay for Business Awards, we’ve heard from the best and the brightest businesses across the country. As a business, we are all looking forward to meeting and working with our sellers to help them through the next stage of their business journey.’

Looking to the future, Hannah is branching into different game sectors, she says: “Things have really taken off for me this year, our Same-Sex Hen Party Game range comes out in February and
then Baby Showers in May. I am so excited to see what the future holds!’
