The King’s Awards for Enterprise

As one of the most prestigious awards that a UK business can win, companies of all sizes can now apply for the King’s Award for Enterprise. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 9 September 2025.

The King’s Award for Enterprise gives your organisation the chance to achieve the Royal seal of approval by showcasing your success in the award categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

In May this year, 197 businesses representing a diverse range of sectors, were recognised by His Majesty The King in this year’s Awards as among the best in the country, highlighting the ambition, ingenuity, and success of our diverse business community.  Of these, 17 awards went to businesses in the South West. Eleven were recognised in the International Trade category, one for Innovation, and five for Sustainable Development. Businesses from Saint Austell to Swindon are recognised, each playing a key role in the government’s mission for economic growth. Recipients from the South West included John Packer Ltd based in Wellington and see our Growth Hub news story about the King’s Award for Shearwell Data Limited in Minehead.

If you get an award you’ll be:

  • invited to a Royal reception
  • presented with the award at your company by one of The King’s representatives, a Lord-Lieutenant
  • able to fly The King’s Awards flag at your main office, and use the emblem on your marketing materials (for example, on your packaging, advertisements, stationery and website)
  • given a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy

Organisations that achieve an award have reported benefiting such as increased commercial success, greater press coverage and recognition, and a boost to staff morale. The awards are valid for 5 years.
