  1. Information collected when you use our websites

When you visit our websites we may collect information about your computer, including where available your Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, and browser type.

IP addresses, operating systems and browser types

IP (Internet Protocol) address

An IP address is a code that identifies a particular computer on the Internet.  Every computer requires an IP address to connect to the Internet.  IP addresses consist of four sets of numbers from 0-255, separated by three dots.  Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will assign you either a static IP address (which is always the same) or a dynamic IP address (which changes every time you log on).

If you connect to the Internet through a network or broadband connection, it is more likely that you have a static IP address.

Operating System

An operating system (OS) is system software that manages computer hardware and software resources and provides common services for computer programs. The operating system is a component of the system software in a computer system. Application programs (apps) usually require an operating system to function.  Examples include:  Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, Linux.

Web browser

web browser (commonly referred to as a browser) is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web (www). An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI/URL) and may be a page on a website, an image, a video or other piece of content.  Example browsers are:  Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.

We may also collect and process information about the resources you access and which web-based tools and business support services you use.

We use a third party service, such as Google Analytics, to do this.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.  If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this.  We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.
