The Sustainability Hub: Low Carbon Devon project will provide an exciting new catalyst for low-carbon economic growth in Devon.

Supported by an investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the three-year £2.6 million programme, will support Devon-based organisations to access research, business support, and engage with the University of Plymouth around the low-carbon agenda.

What Is On Offer?

Support to meet net-zero targets on buildings

Low Carbon Devon will support businesses looking to reduce the emissions from their buildings to net-zero by facilitating their collaboration with industry experts on the benefits of energy efficient building management, solar photovoltaic panels, LED retrofit, for example.

Four industrial researchers are actively carrying out research in The Sustainability Hub, leading interactive events and bringing together enterprises across the following areas:

  • Green wall sector
  • Power electronics (PV & LEDs)
  • Creative industries
  • Energy efficiency in buildings (occupant behaviour)

Funding to develop low carbon products

Funding is available for enterprises to work with academics to develop new low carbon products/processes.

Getting low carbon projects started

Low Carbon Devon offer fully funded 1-3 month internships, linking skilled graduates and students with businesses looking to get low carbon projects off the ground. This could be from science, engineering, arts, humanities, health and business.

Sharing Knowledge

This project provides workshops and events to share industry knowledge and space to network with other organisations looking to reduce their carbon emissions. You can see what events are upcoming here.
